Drew – Not just any other.

Well, looks I’ve been away from this place for far too long and it looks like this place needs more update.. A few people has been asking why is my blog dead already.. It’s been like 3 months now. Ever since from October 22, 2007 till now ———————————————————————–>>>>> February 11, 2008! Oh mama mia.. So much has happened in between there.. I won’t go into detail as it would take a pretty long time to really complete it. Some of you all would stop reading 1/2 way as it gets boring if you read about me too much at once.. but I will at least put some stuffs in here.. from October till January.. Don’t wanna add in Chinese New Year yet. So there will be more cheese to put into the cake later on. oh yea by the way. HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!

Firstly, in November till December. Nothing much was going on in Nottingham Malaysia except the routine stuff, classes in the morning till evening, pushing people to finish assignments [mind you that the group assignment was hell (thanks to other members behaviour) I tell you but at least we all made it through] lunch at specific spots in Semenyih (KICK ASS PAN MEE, Chicken Rice shop, Chinese Coffee Shop Restaurant, Road 52, Road this and that) anywhere except the university cafeteria which has one of the worst food in Malaysia mind you..

Unless you really have nowhere else to go.. then eat there.. (pity the people that have no cars over there). Occasionally we go for duck watch but that’s when we really really have nothing to do already. Night for dinner will be Chinese or Mamak (Sri Leena) or cook at home. Did I mention the streets outside my home are so dark and creepy at night.

Then there’s game time with other friends ruining their days with starcraft (my bad influence towards people), a couple of hours occationally with my housemates, BK, LND, CL, also neighbour DM, and campus friends JL, FATBOY, and AW. Whoever partners me will always kena Belasah kao kao.. most often it will be Eugene then when he’s dying he will scream HELP!!!!!!!!! till the house landlord will come up saying pls dun be so loud.. poor fella, trying to read book downstairs and ends up getting all our screaming and shouting. Forgot to say that I picked up Squash while in Nottingham.. Seems like a fun sport and you also sweat like crazy.. That’s the thing Table Tennis is hard to do unless you’re mad.

Nearing December exams were looming and deadlines for assignments were pushing all of us to the brink of breaking down.. Pressure for everyone was at a high level.. You cannot imagine the mistakes our group members did.. OMG!!! sat down whole day for like 8-10 hours to correct everybody’s work and compile it.. The 1st presentation was a disaster.. The 2nd presentation was good.. (learn from mistakes)

Somewhere in November came PIKOM PC FAIR.. one of computer enthusiasts favourite events of the year. This year I decided to go with my friends. So on that day, I drove down followed by 3 of my mates to Kajang to have some “Dim-Sum” before taking the KTM to KL SENTRAL then switching trains to LRT and from there head to KLCC. But the Dim sum shop has to be damn cool.. It’s like an ice skating ring inside the coffee shop.. The floor is so so so.. I mean SO DAMN OILY.. U feel like ur on ice, I’m not joking. Dim-Sum was “okay-LA” (typical malaysian word). Nothing special to it. The thing about KTM..is so not punctual and is so inefficient. I will never ever take KTM again unless I really have to in the future. well at the very least it got me there and back again safely. PC fair was quite good.. lots of stuff they had for sale there.. speakers, laptops, pendrives, memory sticks, ext HDD, peripherals, cameras, etc.. Went the 1st round to look at everything, 2nd round to get what we wanted.. Got myself a Razer Copperhead and an Everglide S-500 pro gaming headsets which looks like mickey mouse if you wear it by the way.

I hate this to happen… That’s the reason I stopped blogging.. I’ve written so bluddy much.. and I press save and continue editing.. but i get a cut version… incomplete… WTF!!!!! SO BLUDDY crap.. anyway,

Well, after buying our stuffs we headed back… while waiting for the train.. we missed 2 trains because of the people pushing into the train when the train stops.. I still remember because my friend actually lost his phone due to all the pushing although we manage to go in, but someone had stolen my friends phone while he was carrying the big speakers my other friend bought. wasn’t good. but he wasn’t too unhappy about it because the phone was old… old… Only thing he liked about the phone was the screen. So not gonna sit KTM again..

The next will be December going to January.. There’s Camerons, Christmas dinner, Christmas day.

Not much has changed since my last post, other than tutorials have started and the house that I’m staying now is fully occupied and the kitchen is fully furnished. Although the lawn outside does not seem to be growing.. Have a look!!!

I have 6 modules this semester, most of them are core units which I have to take. The most subjective module to me would most likely be Entrepreneurship and Business. First of all, my lecturer is so full of herself. She’s always saying how she got her Doctorate and always talking about her 2 sons. Well, I guess I can’t blame a mother who is proud of their sons, But Come on.. not every class!! She’s kind of paranoid also from the way we talk to her. haha!! funny lady!! Used to work as a lecturer in the USA for a few years also. Suppose she’s quite the entrepreneur. She even says that” if I can tackle a class of US students, what are you all “. Funny lecturer. This subject has no EXAM!!! HAPPY? no! all the assignments given are your marks. Even MONASH is not as crazy as NUBS of UNMC.

UNMC has been building a new block to cater for more students. When I went in UNMC, the main structure was almost completed already. It looked something like this. The adjacent building to my right is the Library. Pretty small library if you ask me. 3 floors but the floors are small. The 4th floor will be meeting rooms and classrooms.

On a cloudy afternoon after having some Pork Belly pepper soup for lunch outside (delicious), I decided to just hang by the pond while waiting for my friend. Was cloudy, the picture was poorly taken.. Dang ! Forgotten to adjust lighting. Enjoyed the rest of the day sleeping.. What a cool weather with no rain!!!

Aside from UNI, My dad showed me this article from the newspaper… I was like WHAT ON EARTH!!!

Apparently, 4 players cannot get their VISA approved to US so they are not able to represent MALAYSIA in for the WORLD CYBER GAMES in Seattle this OCT.. Wanna see the reasons the US embassy gave? Check this out->> man team for Counterstrike! Imagine a team game without the complete team.. Damn US Govt… Can’t you just let us play ! Must you put politics into Cyber Games too??? PISSing me man.. Well, Discrimination is a big thing in US I reckon.

Well, this is regarding my Internet connection. Man people going overseas enjoying 4-10 times faster than streamyx 1.0/2.0 mbps… Here in Semenyih, I am facing an even worse connection with only 384 kbps.. wtheck leh.. I can hardly upload pictures into my photobucket so I think my blogs will be slow, but I will do my best to keep it floating. Worse of all is can’t play STARCRAFT with the OUTSIDE WORLD aka my friends and families overseas.. sob sob.. well I guess complaining will not do anything. Action must be taken!!! man..I’ve waited 5 minutes for my photobucket, and I still haven’t logged in.. OMG.. HELP ME please, sigh..

well, yesterday I had my family dinner at Shogun in One Utama. the food : was quite good actually.
the price : shit.. Pricey at RM 60 per pax on weekends.this is just one of my dishes , yamss….

returned to my accomodations today, did some cleaning up and watched some hindi dance movies. quite interesting if u watch it once awhile. haha.. crazy ass dancing man.. Later at night went for badminton and table tennis. Now I gotta go .. Tired and fed up with the slow connection.. sigh.. this are a few pics I managed to upload. see ya soon. Classes start tomorrow.

hi.. andrew here, just wanna start blogging again. life in semenyih can be damn boring you know.. So at least this keeps my mind of things. I’ve just started my uni life in University of Nottingham Semenyih Campus or (UNMC). This has been my 3rd day and almost everything is going well. B4 I continue, I know some people will be wondering.. I’m sure this site will surely go inactive after a few months. That may be true so that’s those who read give some comments maybe then this site won’t be so dead =).

First day moving in to my new home for probably the nxt 3 years was quite exciting or so to speak. Almost my whole family went down with me (since it’s just semenyih not UK). I actually haven’t gotten a picture of the house yet, but

this is what the gatehouse of my housing area looks like.. at night the barricades will be made in a way u will have to drive S to get in. This is also where I wait for the shuttle bus to pick me up from home to uni. My house is currently being shared by 4 people . Two of them are my friends and the landlord. It’s a privately owned house. The rental is more affordable than the accommodations the company has prepared. Washing machine, Good water pump, few people staying, simple friendly landlord (who reads naruto!), nice rooms. ah.. luxury.. compared to the prison size rooms in campus.. haha!!! There will be 1 more Sarawakian student coming in this weekend.

Well, this is a picture of the university clock tower and administrative building from inside the campus. The plac is kind of new, only opened in 2005. Damn, this place sure is nice.. away from city life. Fresh Air…

Some events that went on from Monday till Friday. Ice Breaker, Pool Party which was quite interesting, Treasure Hunt, Clubbing night, and a concert. I’ve only went for the pool party. but I was not able to take pictures because we were being thrown into the pool so I had to put my phone away. Well, lots of people in the pool, clubbing music, lots of dudes, chics also. 1st experience. Not sure why people like the song “umbrella”. Quite a funny song if u ask me but then again. I’m not fond of hip-hop and rap music. Okay. Time to sign off. Will have more in the days to come.. 1st week in a new life.
