Nightwatch

Holidays are almost over. Another month or so. Haven’t been very productive lately. Been sleeping 5-6am and waking up 12-1 pm for a few days now. Catching up with my new series, Stargate Atlantis. Finally caught up only to find out they are canceling the series. Season 5 will be the last one. Pretty damn upset. Good mix for a sci-fi show.

Followed Kinz to learn some night shots couple of days back. The sky was very clear, so I decided to try it out. Grabbed my tripod and my camera and followed kinz.

Here’s a picture of KL Tower and the Petronas Twin-Tower from approx 20-30km away. My Exposure was a wee bit high so you see the town area very active but it’s actually not quite like that.

Well, if you want to have a closer look do check out kinz blog. This was the most I could zoom in. Made the picture redder* to give a Mars look over the horizon. Also I did try a new tool I found in the camera. And I got this picture.

?

It’s a picture of the Sky kingdom and the towers together. I like the sight but I guess the exposure was a little too much. First attempt.

Enjoy the pictures. Almost time to prepare to go back for uni.

Lemon Garden Revisited

mum & dad

Happy Birthday Mumma… Celebrated my mom’s birthday + sister’s birthday at the Lemon Garden Cafe, Shangrila Hotel, KL. Well, the food there is always good as usual. I probably had everything under the roof except the Chinese cuisine. Got up at 10, got ready at 11.30, grabbed my camera and we headed to KL. Good place to practice my photographic skills. Beginners need to learn.

3rd helping I think

First helping was salad. All the salad with all the sauce with all the add-ons. The second helping was … also vegetable and 7 types of cheese. My pictures aren’t that good. Still learning how to take the pictures with a more contrasting effect. Weekdays you will see this place crowded with people in coats, jackets and blazers but on weekends you see this place filled with kids and parents. It’s actually very crowded once we sat in. The crowd just kept coming till it was packed. People only started to leave around 2 plus.

With a wide variety of food to choose from, you probably will not be able to finish trying everything. Although majority of the food is good. There are a few exceptional ones that taste bad! (for me anyway) For one, the Yammy (prawn looking thing in the picture above) doesn’t taste like anything at all. However, the Indian style lamb wrapped with roti is quite tasty.
With Italian food one corner, Western Food and salad along the same row, seafood and mix dish in the center, Indian Cuisine at one other side along with Chinese Dishes at the other corner of the cafe/restaurant there is just simply nothing you won’t find appealing to your taste requirements. Did I mention desserts along with a chocolate fountain, probably not. Many of the cake designs are a real

beauty. Sometimes you just don’t want to eat them. But cake is meant to be eaten. So just eat them!
As for the fountain. It actually looks like it’s out of balance because all the choc is flowing to 1 side, the back part has no chocolate flowing actually.
From what I learn, eating too fast will make you full pretty fast at the same time. So you have to take your sweet time to eat when you are given 4 hours to eat. You probably won’t wanna eat dinner after that.

Kids are very hard to take care especially when you have 3 of them around and 2 of them can run around alot. For my niece she has no problem sitting down and eating everything adults are eating. For my 1st nephew, recently he has taken a liking in puzzles. Jigsaw puzzles can keep him pretty occupied.
After stuffing myself with a few kilograms of food and dessert. I headed outside to practice my camera shots with the fountain. Managed to get this shot. It’s not much though. Still alot to learn about outdoor photography.

Blue day.

Yesterday was theeee blue day for me. Woke up at 6.58am for work. Got ready by 7.20am. Just getting up from the bed feels so hard because of the dull looking sky that comes from a combination of cloudy skies mixed with some haze. You get a greyish set of sky where the sun only provides partial light to the sky. Plus.. It was a Monday, Monday Blues.

Weekend was good. Headed down to Sg Wang sat morning and got myself a DSLR. Pretty damn happy with it. It’s a Nikon D60. After that, headed home and slept for 1/2 the afternoon. After dinner, Leon and I headed to Ss15 for yam cha with Dee Mei at McD’s. Pretty happy about that too ! On Sunday, it wasn’t as good, just nother boring weekend. Stayed home watching my series.

Well.. here’s to a couple of boring days!

And my New replaced Copperhead!!

the Second Restart pt II

Well, this is the second part of it. I might as well do it now. After Karl Son’s birthday, life was pretty uneventful during weekdays. The next weekend I went to KLCC with DeeMei. Took the LRT there, as it is the easiest means of transportation. We watch “the Dark Knight”. It was a pretty awesome show so to speak. The storyline was very well written as well as the characters in the show. For some twisted reason, I kinda like the Joker’s sadistic actions as well as the way he laughs.. Of course there’s the now famous phrase “why so serious?” HEHEHEHAHAHAHA….

Anyway, after Dark Knight, we headed to the Aquaria in KL Convention Centre. Pretty neat place however it was kind of small to my taste. RM 20 bucks student price is a little pricey I think but it’s sort of a one time thing so what the heck. Let’s check it out. Once inside the feeling is totally different. Decorations and props were a big feature inside.

Oh Big fish in Blue water

Leaves draping from the ceiling, vines branching all along the corridor. There are all kinds of fascinating reptiles, amphibians, and of course, fish! 1001 kinds of fish you can find in there.

sssstarfish...

Then there was the piranha! Who can miss that? Pretty neat bunch of fish. Maybe I should just jump to the big fish section. Too many small fish will take up all of this post already.

Before that, check this dude out. A small croc in a window. There is an ocean tunnel where they store big fish, small fish, shark, stingray, and bigger fish.

Well, it’s quite a short tunnel where there was a conveyor belt and a walkway. about 55mm thick glass. There was a sign saying everything seen through the glass are 30% smaller than actual size. So it’s BIG! BIG ASS SHARK! There was also one big ass fish as big as the shark.

Left for home after Aquaria. Had a really good time there and then.. gup gup..

All pictures were taken with CANON IXUS 800IS. Gonna get my DSLR soon I hope.

The second restart.

I’m very far behind in my blog now. As you can see the last post was February. So much things has happened since then. Let’s see now, what has changed or happened since February. I will make a summary of it here. February till April was pretty uneventful. Well, other than struggling in Quantitative Methods. Arghh, I don’t think I have the understanding to do this but all this understanding can be learned through practices right and concentrating more on work instead of gaming. I had my exams from May till June. Well, let’s just say I will never do last minute study ever again (HOPEFULLY)

birthday gals (michelle, cze)

One funny thing we did for group studies in exam was using mahjong paper and writing notes and then pasting it on the wall. Li Theng went bonkers and followed us but she went to the extreme. Her room and the upstairs hall was filled with her Chemistry and some Physics notes. We also used the sliding door and scribbled it with notes using a white board marker. Kinda cool la. But after 2 papers we gave up. Suffice to say I made it pass 2nd year without having to re-sit for any papers. Also had Cze Wien & Michelle’s birthday dinner at Jack’s Place.

Although my exams were in May, it was also one of the most memorable and cherished months in my life. 4 words to say, I love you dear. Went for Beauty and the Beast Musical in June @ KLCC. Pretty damn good for a musical. Very good coordinations with everything.

I started working for Star Cruise as cheap labour in June and I’m going to finish soon, roughly 2 more weeks. The office is in Wisma Genting, KL. Not much to say about my work, very boring work. I would be keying in database and comments of passengers on board the cruise ships.

Some comments were good, some were bad. Overall depends on people’s luck. If they were lucky, they would be getting good treatment otherwise they would normally just get normal treatment. It’s amazing how some people can complain about the smallest of things. No toothbrush in the bathroom, not enough towels, food is cold. Oh my, what a bunch of rich people. Also finding myself addicted to Coffee Bean now. There’s a Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf at the ground floor of Wisma Genting. So far I had taken 3 drinks and 1 breakfast there. Very expensive, so I think I better stop, says myself.

Also started watching Star Trek Voyager during the holidays. Since my bro actually bought the complete series, all 7 seasons. Not many friends that are trekky fans. I see no point in not watching it during my holidays. Quite an old series already. However, this is also bad for me since I sleep like 2am watching this show and waking up at 7/6.30 am to start my work. Working in KL is bad, the traffic I mean. You get to be stuck in the jam for long periods of time. Haha, thank goodness I don’t drive to work. It takes 18 minutes from KL Sentral to Tmn Paramount. That’s how bored I was so I timed it on the way home.

Had dinner for my birthday with my friends at Bubba’s Gump at the Curve. The place was nice, however the food was not that great. Will post up a pic or two soon. After dinner, we headed to my place for some cake session. Oreo Cheesecake! Damn syok if you ask me but I can’t eat that much. So I had to eat it over a period of a few days.

After the cake, we sat down watched abit of TV, stoned abit and they left soonafter for show. Thanks everyone for the great time I had!

Dinner @ Bubba's Gump, the Curve

The week after that was Karl Son’s birthday BBQ dinner. After work I followed my sis in law home then rushed to Karl’s place. Supposed to be there the latest mana tahu I’m not. Alot of sausages, pork chops, bbq chicken and detergent smelling marshmallows. Eat and chat later had a trial run on the roulette. An interesting thing to play.
