Broga !

Recently my friends invited Dee Mei and I for a camp on Broga Hill. So I thought, why not? Haven’t been to camp in awhile. So we decided to go but Dee had to go back hometown so she didn’t come along.

Met up after class at around 3pm on a Friday. Friend picked me up from my place and we gathered at uni. Left for Broga (rabbit funland) after that. 10 of us were dropped off in 2 cars. We gathered our equipment and supplies and waited for the rest to come after dropping their cars for about 10 minutes.

waiting..
waiting..

Started our hike up broga hill. First was the Palm oil plantation filled with MOZZIES. After passing that, we reached a crossroad. To head left or right. Stopped to make a few calls then decided to take left. 15 minutes walking up hill narrow ledges then he (my friend who had been up there b4) said it’s a wrong way gotta turn back. so went down again. then went up. sounds so headache.

Some parts of the path was narrow with 20-30 ft ledges and there was a bridge built with wood to cross a hole. When reaching the top, the tree line ended and the tall grass took over. the climb up was STEEP like a 60 degree angle climb. Lack of pictures because I didn’t bring my camera up for fear of getting caught in heavy rain because it was raining everyday for the past 2 weeks in Semenyih.  (it was October)

When we reached the top, it was very breezy. No sun shining through the clouds. So it was very cooling.

Rested awhile then started to set up tent. After that a few of us headed down to collect some firewood. Of  course going all the way up there, we did not forget to bring our drinks. Water and beer and Whiskey to keep you warm!

!
Probably the best bottle in Broga!

Wasn’t long before it got dark but by then we had our fire going already and 1/2 way cooking through our stuffs. lilit roti was awesome. Thanks to Audrey for making the lilit and everyone for doing their part.

Weather was extremely good. Didn’t rain, just drizzle at night. Talked till about 2am and then got up at 6am. The wind was like scary as hell.. blowing the tent with so much strength you could go parachuting with the tent already. Was very fun till the very end. Took some photos with my friend’s cameras.

Before we know it, it was 7am already and we packed our things and left for the bottom. The outdoor club reached up there as we were about to leave. Was a very good experience. Tiring thanks to lack of exercise.

Reached down at about 8.15am and headed to broga for breakfast. darn nice…!!! was a very fun experience. Probably would go up again another time.

Ultimate Addiction.

Gee, Haven’t updated my blog for almost a month already. It’s about time I do so.. Recently started to play Ultimate frisbee in Nottingham. It’s actually a really really kick ass fun. A hybrid of American Football, and Basketball, and a flying disc. People call Frisbee a dog game.. until they see Ultimate. We play under the Hot Sun, Heavy Rain, Strong Winds and even in the Pool.

Haha, here I am promoting ultimate frisbee. Here’s a few pictures to show what’s it all about. (taken with a 70-300mm Sigma)

Day @ Broga Temple

Bz day for this day.. Started out in the morning with a visit to uni with Dee to inquire some stuffs about my course modules for the 2nd year.. So near to starting already. Hope I’m ready for it. After that, Went around the pond and took a few shots here and there. Tot the ducks went missing turns out they were hiding.

Lone Duck

It seems the ducks were all there after 3 months. Wud’ve thought they disappeared by now.  After spending like 15 minutes there. We headed to the Broga Temple. (Broga is a small village deeper inside of this area)

Reached the temple and we noticed a… hill worth climbing haha next to the temple. there’s a tar road built till up all the way. not that high though. Once at the temple, we climbed the stairs up and up and up. Not that many stairs. Every level, there are nice decorations. Some giant fruits, some statues and all. Pretty neat place.

There’s also the monkey god we all know from shows and stories.

There’s also a dragon turtle that is pulling a cart filled with gold..

I don’t know what the dragon turtle signifies.. Hmmm let me see. Dragon for power and strength, the turtle shell for wary and careful as well as good home (turtle shell = turtle’s home), the cart is your wallet/bank account and the treasure obviously your money.

omg.. what !

omg.. what !

Once we reached the end of the temple, we started climbing the hill side to reach the top. Quite a nice atmosphere and view. Though nothing very spectacular it was still nice to look at things from above once in awhile.

Reached home pack our stuff for the weekend and headed back to PJ… Had a dinner to attend.

Night @ Uni

Headed to Semenyih to start cleaning my place on Wednesday. Took me 3 hours to clean only my room and the stairs. Oh my goodness. So Messy and dirty. Wanted everything to be clean and shining and ship shape. Ate mumma’s baked pizza for dinner and slept right after that. Woke up next day and headed for breakfast Pan Mee! with Dee Mei and Li Theng. They came to Sem to clean their house. I realised that their home was much dirtier than mine. but considering that my house somebody has been staying in there all the while. I have nothing to say.

Dropped Li Theng at KTM then dropped by Starbucks to have a “chocolate chip cream” Quite jelak after awhile. For some reason I dun really fancy starbucks already as compared to Coffee Bean..

Went to Uni at night to take some photos and I realised I left my tripod back in PJ !!! I kept going “ALAMAK” but I still went to uni to try taking some night photos after all. Dee Mei accompanied me.

Was very peaceful at night. Not many people around the uni especially classes for UG students have not started. Went to the center of the Study Area at the fountain. Headed over there to take some water pictures. See what I can come out with. Here’s for you people to enjoy. Well I kinda like the Uni’s environment. Very peaceful. Considering it’s away from the normal City.

Here.. Less words, just enjoy what I took. Don’t really know how to make the back lights from the words and the clock tower be seen clearer. Any suggestions?

Well.. Enough of fountain photos la. If I keep putting I will never end..

After spending an hour or so taking pictures and walking around we decided to head back home. While walking past the study block, something caught Dee’s attention. It was a frog climbing a wall.. I was surprised to see frogs climbing walls.. at 1st I didn’t believe it but then I saw it…

Spider Frog.. Quite obvious right???

I tried to take a close-r up shot of it but he climbed the wall so fast. So I decided to just let him be. He was right at the ceiling already.

Day In Melaka Town (saturday)

This post was supposed to be Monday post.

What was supposed to be a two day one night stay in PD ended up in a 1 day trip to Melaka for food. Last minute one of my friend couldn’t make it. So we decided 1 day right before we left. We left on Saturday morning at around 8.00am in the morning. Beng, MIchelle and I were the last three people to arrive. Got the change of plans last minute there and then. George drove and we all sat in. In the car we called Zhen asking him if he wants to take a day trip to Melaka. He said okay. Drove to his place picked him up,

then headed to Centrepoint McD’s for breakfast.

Cloudy skies and raining almost throughout all the way to Melaka. Beng somehow made our 1 3/4 hour journey seem alot shorter. Thanks! haha… Reached Melaka,

Bus vs Beca !

attempted to find our way to Jonker’s St. using Siew Yen’s route (route to her grandma’s place) We managed to reach the place eventually. Had to find parking then… parking coupon.

1st stop had Laksa + Cendol. Curry laksa and some kind of super sweet cendol.

Next Stop was chicken rice balls the same area* Some big fancy chicken rice ball restaurant.

then walked around A Famosa (which was the 1st time for me)

(gatehouse I think)

Not a lot to look at this place but quite a nice and pleasant place to relax. Very windy and calm place.

Imagine this without everything but a small village and the ocean filled with warships.. aiming their cannons at you (FORT)! That was then...

Nothing much was left of the fort other than ruins.. ruins ruins..

and spotted a GSC nearby so we decided to take a walk towards the shopping mall. We ended up watching a movie. After that we headed to Jln Laksamana or somewhere near there for Satay. Quite alot of satay but the pieces are small.

After Satay!

After Satay!

Once we stuffed ourselves with 5pm satay. we headed to the Newly constructed jetty next to Holiday Inn.

Not a bad place to lepak for Melaka’ns actually.

The jetty walkway. (2 sides)

Then… there was pool where we got kicked in the ass by beng. Too much pool during Taylors time I guess made him gay in pool.

Took some photos there. Actually thought I could get a sunset picture.. Mana tahu towards the horizon it started to get so Bluddy cloudy!!!

see!!! cloudy wei..

see!!! clouds...

Waited for dinner and then we headed to our next stop.

Satay Celup. SYOK! (Satay Celup too messy to take pics)

AFter that we all headed home. Made a stop at Ayer Keroh Stop. Brings back memories that place. Went there in form 4 also during the school organised uniformed body camp. The stop with baskin robbins!

On the way home we decided…. instead of going back straight home.. Let’s go A&W ! waffles and fries. To end our day. Oh what a day. Before I knew it, it was already Sunday.

What a beautiful day has passed.
